For the past two weeks I have been in Florida for a fun filled vacation, during my two week stay there I have only seen 3. Thats right 3 BMWs. In total I have only seen like 10 German cars in that area. I passed a BMW dealership on I-4 only to be suprised their whole parking lot was full of unsold cars. Same thing with the southern states I passed through, I have not seen even 1 bmw after the state of maryland, has the south gone mad? or do they just dislike german cars..?

im not sure but my area (middle TN) could be considered partially stark raving mad for BMW's, i see new 7's, 5's, current 3's all the time (not to mention all the brand new X5's and Z's every now & then), also alot of E38 7 series and E39 5 series, the previous version E46 as well... you dont see much of the E36 3 or E34 5, have seen a few E32 7's, quite a few E30 3's driving around, and at the bottom of the barrel in terms of numbers are the old 6 series, 80's 7 series, and brand new M3 Coupe & a few year older M3 convertibles...

even with all of that though, its still a rarity to see them here as it seems everybody from the age of 15 till 80 owns a car for themselves

Everyone who owns one was probably at work to pay for them. [:p] Here in northern Louisiana, they are very popular. Mainly basic 325's. Maybe about 3 5'ers including my neighbor. 7's are almost extinct, hardly see one.

What part of Florida are you in? You must not be in either Fort Lauderdale/Miami area or Tampa. I get to those areas on business trips and see lots, like tons, of bimmers on the road.

I think you need to be in a city to see a great deal of them. Atlanta is chock full of german cars. I would imagine they're more scarce out in the rural parts of most states. I'm heading down to FL this week. I'll have to keep an eye out.

I go to FL once a month or once every other month (going again on Friday the 13th, actually) and I stay in Palm Beach, FL. It's about an hour North of Miami and for me, Palm Beach is automotive heaven. I am surrounded by sickening cars, SL's, SL55's, Range Rover's, Cayenne's, 911's (every kind of them, too), BMW's, Jaguar's, Aston Martin's, etc. I also see at least one new Rolls Royce Phantom.

Basically any nice car you can think of will be there, particularly if you go during the winter.

Lol, yeah. Every time I go I wanna take some pictures of the cars and post them here but I'm not too sure what would happen if I suddenly whip out a digicam and start taking pictures of the cars parked outside the restaurants and stuff.
