factory sub impedance

im changing subwoofer in my '98 323ic convertible with an HK sub and i would like to know wat the impedance on that sub is. thanks!!

I think the hk sub is 2 ohm. I'll check when I get home as it's laying on the floor of my garage and occasionally is used to wedge the door open. It's a quality piece of s@#$, I mean, equipment. [:D]

I am SURE the HK sub sucks... BIG TIME.

Yeah it does. BIG TIME. What is it, like a 4" subwoofer?

What can I do to fix this and keep the look clean? The rest of my H/K system sounds pretty good. That auto-volume thing with the convertibles whips major ass.

The coupe has two 6x9 subs firing into the trunk. What I did to upgrade my hk was add a 12" sub and amp with a 1cu.ft sealed box. I used this DIY as my point of reference for my project. I only had to tap into 4 wires before the factory amp to get my the clean signal iI sent to the sub/amp.
