E46 with Sirius and nav system

When I ordered my 2004 330Ci, the dealer said I would be able to install a Sirius satellite radio even though the car has a nav system. The reason we looked into it is because there was a known software incompatibility between Sirius and nav on the 2003 models. They said BMW was going to update the software to make them compatible.

Well, I just got my car back from the dealer after they attempted to install the Sirius system, and they said they weren't able to install it because of the nav system. I reminded them what they told me when I ordered it, and I asked them if they checked with BMW, but I didn't get a straight answer. Anybody know anything about this or where I can check into it? I wonder if my dealer just doesn't know what they're talking about. Or maybe they tried and couldn't figure it out and gave up.

Looks like we need to wait...

I am waiting to pick up my 330i ZHP in Germany (12/03 production). It has NAV and I want Sirius.

From BMWNA:
==========
> Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding Sirius
> Satellite Radio. I apologize for the confusion. 2004 3 Series
> vehicle produced from 09/03 on are compatible with the Navigation
> System. If the vehicle is also equipped with BMW ASSIST a trunk
> mounted antenna will be required.

From Circle BMW:
============
> Good news and bad (sort of) news.
> GOOD - The Sirius system will work for your car, as BMW has told you.
> BAD - These parts are not expected to be available until the first quarter
> of the new year. We don't even have part numbers or prices yet.
> As soon as they're available, we'll have them posted on our website.

www.circlebmw.com - check under E46 in the Sirius section

This wait is painful as the Sirius lifetime subscription program ends Jan 31st.
Keep your car more than a few years and this is worth it.

Good luck.
