Has the SRS light on your e36 come on? Did the dealer try to charge you $95 to diagnose?

My experience at the dealer today:
I just took my Z3 in for an Inspection II and the SA asked,"Any problems?" I replied that the SRS light came on a few weeks ago when I adjusted the seat. She just smiled. As she handed me the estimate, I asked why it was $570 instead of $478. She just pointed, without saying a word to the $95 diagnostic fee for the SRS. I told her to forget it, for $130 I'll buy the peake tool and reset it myself. That gash is always rude to me when I take my car in... But that's beside the point. I think BMW should address this issue since it is such a common problem.
