E36 325TDSE Auto

hi every one i have an E36 325TDSE Auto, it is a 2.5 straight 6 cylinder engine, it is worrying me, the fuel economy is really low, i am currently getting 20-25 mpg locally,(that includes a lot of short journeys), is that an acceptable fuel economy or am i supposed to get more? is there something wrong with the car? HELP!! has someone else got the same car

Um unless im mistaken that sounds perty good. City driving is always very low milage. I'm only getting 18 on my Cougar.

I'm getting 17 mpg in city driving. And I have a newer 2.5L engine. Consider yourself extremely lucky. And I don't even push it, that hard, around town. Least I don't think I do.

cheers ladz, you have restored my confidence in BMW diesels, any adice on cheap alloys for my BMW, money is tight, times are hard all help appreciated
