instead of signing petitions, let bmw know by what really counts, w/your pocketbook. don't buy the new "fugly" bimmers, and brass will have to come down on bangle.

C'mon guys......they are not that bad. I actually am really starting to like the new 3er ALOT. The 5er is a hit.........there are SOOOOOO many new 5er's on the road here it is almost annoying. Z4's rock, X3's are nice lookin and driving cars. Where is the issue. Since BMW got Chris Bangle..their sales have not been hurt, in fact in several locations around the globe BMW's are THE car to have and thier sales figures prove it. There was a thread posted here a few months ago about how BMW sales were soaring. Times change, designs change, people need to change with both.

But comparing it to the E -46 I was hoping it would change for the better. I parked my 330i next to the new one @ BMW last sunday and I just couldn't find the new one cool. I have driven 2 E-46s in the last five years 325i & 330i respectively and the new one does not motivate me to spent the money. The 5er's are cool that way but the 3er's needs to be more sporty and agressive looking ! My humble opinion!! [fake]

it´s bangle designing the cars? dang....for real? now that´s new to me [rofl]

serious, the E46 was designed by bangle, so was the Z4. There is not too much not to like on those cars, right? oh, and the 1 series...guess who made it.... sure, especially the 7 series really polarized the crowds, but already with the 5er people tended to get along with the design. we evolved our taste, he evolved his designs. in the end we will all meet in the middle and return to love the bimmers looks.

I don't find his designs to be all that bad. I don't prefer some of them, but I don't think they are that bad either. I like the new 1, 5, 6 series. The 3 series judgement is pending until I can see it in person. I know I will not like it as much or even close to as much as the E46, but we'll see just how bad/good it really is in person.

To many haters....

I always have LOVED the Z4. The 5 grew on me, now I like it quite a bit. After seeing the E90 at 3 Across America, I like it. I think the E90 ///M is going to smoke.

The only thing I had against the new designs was that they're not what I expected a BMW to look like. I never really thought any were ugly. I really like the looks of the Z4 and the 6.

That would be a good petition, except that it reads like an 8th grader wrote it...
It sure does! With grammar like that I wonder if the writer fully comprehends the words utilized. Either way, 15000 people signed it, BMW sells 1 million cars a year. I don't think I'm the first person to say that BMW doesn't give a ____ about that petition.

I agree with above poster about times changing. I didn't start paying attention to BMW's until the new 7 series came out. I like them all except the new 5. I say keep up the good work.

Last time I checked the figures, the E60 was easily outselling the E39 it replaced. I liked the E39, a lot, but the E60 was the car that finally pushed me over the edge to buy my first BMW. I'm sorry change is so hard sometimes, but the sales figures show increased interest in the new design. Now I'm talking the new 5, not the 7, where I agree that the back end was not good looking.

i guess i erred a bit on my previous post. the meaning behind it was bluntly: "put up or shut up." you can sign all the petitions you want, but unless the buyer actually chose to go w/some other brand due to just design issues, manufacs would have to change to please the consumers.

i def didn't mean to say to boycott the bmw altogether, but for some, the "ugly" design may push them away. altho i haven't test driven it, i heard it still is a bmw underneath the skin. and looks are growing on me. some designs are just way ahead of their time.
