It changes after about 1000 miles (break in period apparently). Won't change much though. Remus is known for being a quieter exhaust.

If you want loud, you prolly wanna go with an Eisemann Race or UUC TSE. Rogue Engineering DMS is another option.

PLEASE don't make your Bimmer sound like a lawn mower!!!!!!!!! Leave that shit for the ricers. They have loud exhaust so people will look at them........You have a bimmer, so people already check you out. Keep it clean. [spank]

it is only about 2% luder thatn stock

it is only about 2% luder thatn stock And only at higher RPM. Virtually none noticable.
I got in only because I was looking for little more rumble when idling, just like Z4 I test drove (stock), the sound that Z4 is putting out is perfect for me.
Remus on the other hand is.. well ... like I never changed the muffler at all.
Maybe it is the exhaust part that is just before the muffler is surpressing the sound that I am looking for. It looks like tha car exhaust is prepared for dual exhaust of 540 but one part of it is just blocked out and there is only one pipe going to muffler. what if I remove the "Y" looking part. will that make it little louder? Plese help me, since I do feel like I spent $400 for nothing.

That piece acts as a resonator, it will be louder if eliminated. The problem is that you don’t know how much louder, and it can sound similar to not having a muffler at all. If you don’t like it and it’s possible, return it and find one that will make you happier.

I know this doesn't help out your situation much but, you should have just invested the other 600.00 and got the quad M3 exhaust if you really wanted the "throaty" un ricer sound. I don't know shit about exhaust though.

If you want a loud annoying exhaust get a rice can and be done with it, or get a screw driver and pope a hole in your muffer. Most people try to find a good sound, not how loud you can get it. Unless your a truck or a rice boy at wal-mart looking at cans. The P/O on my car put a borla on my car and its loud, and it pisses me off.

You can change the Y-Pipe (also known as frontpipe) to something aftermarket. It will be less restrictive there and will provide a throatier sound. Remus typically offers very quiet exhaust systems...more about the power gains than the sound.

For the record, loud does not equal rice. You can have a loud setup that still sounds great but it's kind of stupid if the exhaust note completely covers up the sound of the engine. What you want is a good combination of sound from both ends of the car (the engine and the exhaust).

Checkout and see if Remus offers an aftermarket Y-Pipe for your car. That should definitely give you the tone you are looking for.
