I have a new keyless entry remote that doesn't work on my 1995 BMW 540i. The other two I have work fine, but this one won't work on the car. I lost the owner's manual, so I don't know how to program this remote. Can someone please help.

Thank you.

Hello and welcome aboard, try the following steps below.

1) Enter the vehicle and close the door.
2) Insert the key and turn it to the accessory position.
3) Immediately turn it back to the off position and remove the key.
4) Hold down the Roundel button and press the unlock button 3 times.
5) The key is programmed once the remote unlocks the door.

I can't get this to work. I get a series of short LED flashes after the Roundel is held for a few seconds, then I release and push the unlock 3x, but it won't program. I've also tried keeping the Roundel pressed while I press the unlock, but the LED goes out. Any ideas?

Thank you.

I was looking for replacement keyless entry remotes not too long ago and I found a site that had them for $44.99 for my 97 M3.

I had them delivered in less than a week and the programming instructions only took maybe 10 seconds?

Anyways, here's a link to the site:

Just type "5 series" in their search box.
