Wondering if anyone has any experience with the traditional auto auctions? Can you get good cars and good deals at such auctions? Any website suggestions that I should register for such auctions?

how about the online auto auctions.. any experience here?

I can say that you can get really great deals there but you can also get a really crappy car there and the chances of that are really high. Sometimes they seel cars at auctions because they have big problems and cannot be sold at regular dealer shops. I don't have any websites but I will tell you this, if you plan to buy a car there, be VERY careful.

The auction cars here in NY are famous for having the mileage altered and other deceptive practices. People do well at these but they are either very "in the know" or damn lucky that day. Proceed with extreme caution.

BEWARE!! I wouldnt bother. Friend of mine got a complete lemon. looked good...but that was it...unless you are mechanically savy, there is a good chance you will get screwed.
