I read an article about the 2 door vs. 4 door issue on this car. The designers goal was to make it appear that the roof line and rear fender bulge give it a coupe appearance even though it has 4 doors.
Honestly it seems like ALL american cars are like that and i do NOT understand it. They put 17" wheels on, with the same side wall size as 20 years ago!! Do they WANT it to handle mushy and all? It looks okay in pictures...but I'm not sure how it will look in person. It also should be a few inches lower....
Also the lines REALLY remind me of the new ford 500 and ford mustang.
Another design flop, just like the GTO. Bringing back the classic muscle cars is great, but dont rush it by putting different car panels together and putting the name to it. Its ugly.
I agree. Here's the 1999 concept for those that don't remember it:
Now that was a cool, exciting car. This new one seems dull and doesn't have an evolution of any of the styling cues from the "real" Chargers. The 1999 concept was full of modern interpretations of the classic styling cues.
I would have been much more content with them just building a sedan form of the Magnum wagon - the styling of the Magnum is much cooler IMO.
Actually it does have at least one. Look how the rear end juts straight out - that is definitely from the original Charger. It looks a lot like the new Mustang.
I do agree that the styling is rather bland. I am just excited that the US cars are finally moving to better platforms.
Well look at the concept Mustang vs. what was produced?...............The new "stang is hidious and ugly and poo poo lookin, where as the concept was HOT HOT HOT
