i was doing 90ish with a crx on my tail....we fly by a cop on the side sniping, he guns out after us

we slow down to the speed limit and move over to left lane.. we both know we're ****ed

he pulls up next to me, i pull my radar off and throw it in the glove box eheheh
he then drops back and paces the crx

i think yes! i'm off scott free!

he pulls the other guy over and i keep going...i'm tempted to floor it and grab the next exit
but he gets out of his car, tells the other guy to follow him and comes after me...

so i being a nice guy and all pull over as soon as he gets back in his car.

after i got my warning for 88 in a 55 i pull back onto the road and see that there was an exit around the next bend! not even 1 mile from where i was parked!
rrrrrr

many times.
twice in the same place - my neighborhood entrance where i never would stop at the sign to get on the 5 lane. he was going in the opposite direction so by the time he turned around, i was crossing the hill then id duck into another neighbor hood and zag my way through.
another time was in Atl Roswell, if you know the area, then youd know its got lots of back streets and what not all accessable to main roads. flew by a cop, turned into a full parking lot, parked and got out. Was at a theater and putt putt place. the cop staked out the lot for 30 minutes.

I always stop for cops. I've been pulled over for twice the speed limit and the cops get pissed at that. But if you're going 2X the speed limit or more, and a cop tries to pull you over, it's a really good idea to cooperate. If you try to run, the cop won't even think about cutting you a break. But if you pull over and just cooperate, you're much better off....seriously, I'm not speaking out of my ass, cops REALLY appreciate it if you cooperate and be curteous to them. They don't show it, but they feel it!

I have only ran from the cops once, and i really didn't run, me and this kid from school were racing, stupid, and the cop was siting in a parking lot some where on the road that we were racing on, so he pulled out and turned on his lights the kid who i was racing pulled over, he was behind me, and i just kept on driving. The cop never chased after me.

The only time I ditched a cop.. i was driving home from work, and decided to take the back way. I was doing about 90 in a 35 (farm roads - nothing around) and i see a car coming so I slowed down to about 70, and it was a cop and he slams on his brakes. At the same time I put it in 3'd and punch it, weaving around the back roads and made it to my friends house.

All lovely stories here.

Mine is quite funny because, ultimately, i got caught!

I was driving through the outer suburbs of Melbourne at about 2am in the morn - no traffic whatsoever - and i'm hitting about 120km/h in the 60km/h zone. This probably wasn't a good idea!

I see the cop car about 500m in front of my car heading straight in my direction and the cop-cars in OZ have radars attached to their roofs so they hit the sirens a LONG way before yuo'd expect. I hit the anchors and duck into the street at my left and nail it through the various backstreets. After about 2 mins i know i've lost them and so i'm pretty chuffed at this stage[hihi].

So i decide the kick the tail out on a nice big right hand turn and it's the most beautiful 4-wheel drift i think i'd ever done. And you know what, the same cop-car is just sitting there on the side of the road minding his own business. What are the odds huh? So i got raped for $500 and lost the licence for 6 months. The cop said my drift was nice though[headbang]... Not much consolation really!

I out ran a cop on foot. I was trying to pawn a paintball gun at a pawnshop in Sparks NV. I was running across the street with this massive Gun in my hand and a Motorcycle cop past by and about broke his neck doing a double take. He slammed on his brakes and flipped a bitch. I took off down an ally and over a fence. I sat behind this fence afraid to breath, I thought the cop would hear me. He drove back and forth for about 10 minutes, radio crackling and all. I was scared to death. But he left and I never ran across the street with ANY kind of gun in my hands after that.

I have never ran from the cops but i was driving down the interstate and some fool of a driver got on my tail and then flew by my, I got pretty upset because the road was empty, anyways we played some cat and mouse i would pass he and then he would pass me. I was very familiar with the road so I waited until the right moment to pass him so he would pass me at the top of a hill, Like I planed just over the top of the hill was the Local Law Enforcement catching speeder. The other guy got pulled over and I about died laughing.

I have always wanted to do that so when i had the chance I could not pass it up.

100 MPH on the highway can be jail on the spot here and guaranteed if you try to get away. This has been made very clear so if you are going 100 in a 75 zone best be as nice and cooperative as possible. I can’t even imagine the cost involved if you run here, with attorney fees probably $10,000 or more. In the alternative, be nice, get a possible reduction, pay a big fine, and take some classes.

I was pulled over last year for the first time since 1989 and I immediately shut my car off and turned on my interior lights (it was 8PM in winter and dark). He let me go with a verbal warning.

Really not worth taking a chance because this can follow you forever.

EDIT:

A lot of people don’t like my ideas for fines in residential and school zones. If it were my decision these fines would be $100 within 5 MPH over and $100 for each 1 MPH over 5 MPH, up to 10 MPH over the limit. Over 10 MPH over the limit and $100 per 1 MPH over with no break for the initial 5 MPH over so 11 MPH over would be $1,100. And double the speed limit and the whole fine doubles to $200 per 1 MPH over. So 50MPH in a 25 would cost $5,000.

Damn Bryan, Kinda of harsh, but I see your point. I would KILL someone if they hit my kid because they were driving to fast on my street of by his school. Make it painful. The U.S. does however need to de-regulate the speed limits on the freeway and such. More people die in freeway accidents in the U.S. each than in Europe. My guess is because when I am driving I am much more "on Cue" at 130mph than at 60mph. 60-75mph is dangerous. I tend to want to fall asleep at that speed.

speaking of running away from cops .... it wasn't me .. but my friend, back in high school, he was actually arrested and taken into the police station. I forgot for what cuz it was a long time ago.

It was the late shift so there were only a few officers in the station that night and when the officer went to get something, he ran for it. For some reason he wasn't hangcuffed but he actually made it out of the station and hid in a nearby bush for a good 30 minutes. Cops didn't look in the nearby bush cuz they assumed he would be running as far as possible. Anyways, he actually made it out and I was quite surprised when told me about it years later ...

Nah, I know he wasn't BSing me. I've known him for a long time .... he got into a lot of trouble before cuz of 'gang' related incidents ...

from what i remember he told me ... he went into station .. officer took him to his desk, told him to sit down, cop went away (get coffee and donut maybe) and he just ran for it.

As for myself .... i got pulled over~ =P going like 120 mph at 4 AM on the highway. Was like the only car on the freeway and at one of the major freeway mergers, cop car happen to come up fast onto the highway I was on and happen to be at my right side blind spot. Didn't even see it till the flashing lights came on. I was lucky I didn't get arrested. Cop gave me a tix and I paid a big fine~

Big Daddy are you cop? [scratch]
Served many years in law enforcement and then went to school to study law (Still in school as I can't get enough). I have represented police officers who have been accused of policy violations and/or crimes, and done reviews for PD's on policy, procedure, contracts and communications. PS, thanks Tool, I know you do!
