do i need an amp??

first off nice board, glad i found it.

got a 1995 318i, got a nice box as a present from my girl but got no cashola at the moment to buy an amp... questions are...

1. does my 95 318i come with a factory amp? if so can i hook up to that?
2. can i disconnect the rear speakers and use that wire to hook to my box?

I am guessing the "box" your referring to is a subwoofer enclosure with speakers. Well, I am sorry to tell you but your going to have to save up until you have enough for the amp. Out of the many issues I will point out one, the subs only need low frequency sound while your rear speakers have low, high and mid frequency sound running to them. At the very least you would need a crossover. I would say save up for the amp or you might blow something. Hope I helped somewhat and I think you will like this board very much, we have good people here.

answer is beacuse there wont be enough power to run the "box" aka subwoofer.
