Those guys in the Audi at the end musta thought their chip upgrade was really gonna help them or something..

Losing traction at 60 when you stomp it is just SICK. [headbang]

You mean they thought their APR Stage III Turbo upgrade had a chance. [hihi]

I looked like they had a supercharger in it. Its definitely a beast to say the least. The person in the Audi must have been ignorant thinking he can compete with that. Nitrous?!....

Going with tuning products from APR is a great way to kill your engine real fast.
I thought APR was pretty good. Some considered it the standard. As far as VW goes. I use to own a 1.8T Jetta with a APR chip. It was nice and smooth.

Noway...where did you get that info from?
When I had my Jetta for a year and I hung out at the VW Fortex forum, it was like a known thing. You go with APR if you wanted maximum power, but you don't care for the overall engine life. You go with GIAC if you want more power along with reliability and maximum engine longevity. APR has changed significantly now...their tuning stages are much more reasonable. But around 2-5 years ago, APR used to sell chips that would raise the boost of your 1.8T to a ridiculously high level which would produce mad power, but it would kill the engine fast.
Am I possibly thinking of a different company??? I really thought it was APR that had this reputation.

I LOVE American HP, the throaty sounds of the engine...make my spine shiver. I would love to get my hands on a ZO6 Vette and have enough left over to do tuning mods to 750+ hp. There is a guy here that has (says) 800+ hp in a Trans Am 2000 model year...sounds mean..looks girly...I will take some picks when he gets back from Iraq.
