Cruise Control Brake Link

I think my brakes are bad and need to be replaced. Also, I've noticed that when I hit the brakes, the cruise control doesn't go off. Are these problems related?

no, there should be a stand alone switch on the petal that turns off the cruise. perhaps it popped out of place.

hmmm perhaps it is not a stand alone switch on the brake. theres one on the clutch petal if you have one. see if that turns it off. Your brake lights work properly?

still your brake pads will not affect your cruise control....

Take off the plastic piece under the dash (it should just be 2 or 3 plastic clips/screws at the top and then one bigger one on the steering column like halfway down. Take that off, and then right above the pedal around the pivot point, there should be a switch on both the gas and brake. My cruise control wasn't working becuase of a faulty clutch switch, though if your brake lights work your cruise control should shut off.
