well tonight i was scheduled to go out on a nice drive with a buddie of mine Blunt. He has a reallll fast E30 (S52 under the hood). So we head down at about 730 to this place called the "Opus" campus. The Opus campus is a one way street system that winds through all these offices, two lanes, its really fun.
We go in and take a real slow lap at about the speed limit. We stop and Blunt tells asks me if i've driven these roads at speed, i say no, so he says we'll take it easy for one more lap at not quite full speed. The second lap was at about 6/10's pace, and then we took another at about 7-8/10's pace.
On the third lap we come down a long sweep into a straight then a hard left. Just after the hard left there is an uphill left sweeper that is an early apex. We are pretty hard on it, and suddenly i here SIRENS. A cop dips RIGHT behind me, he was gonig for Blunt, but got out about 3 feet behind me. I pull over and brake real hard, the cop FLIES by me and goes after Blunt. I think "shit, i gotta dip." i pull into one parking lot, dead end, i pull into another, dead end, i look back and the only way i can go is down toward the cop. I am thinking about it, and then the cop points to me and waves me down.
This was the point when i noticed that Blunt was pulled over, and the first squad car had the road blocked off. I pull down there real slow and stop, he grills me for a bit and then moves his car so blunt and i are in front of him. The cop gets on the radio and says "yeah we got BOTH BMW's" this is when 2 or 3 more squad cars come in and park, nearly closing the road down.
We wait and wait, i here them laughing "old guy showing the young guy the ropes" and "they were reckless, they were sliding all over." They ask me how i know Blunt, and what i'm doing down here. I had scared look on my face and keep my answers to "yes sir" "no sir" "sorry sir." One cop eventually brought me my ticket and said "we got you for speeding, careless driving, reckless driving, and street racing, thats enough to put this car on a truck, and put you in jail" this is the point i nearly shit my pants. he then says "but we are gonna let you off with just speeding, 50 in a 30, and that is on the LOW side"
Pretty sweet that i only got a speeding ticket when the cop obviously watched us do all three laps, how else would those others cops know there were 2 bmw's or be there so fast. Blunt got a 79 in a 30, which is still really damn good. he'll probably have to go to court cause thats a reckless driving ticket.
