Down here in Tampa, Citgo is now selling FIVE grades of unleaded at one pump!!

I forget the octane for each but it's something like 87,88,91,93,94

It probably is 89. I saw 5 grades total, 87, 89, 91, 93 and 94, but all of them were at different stations. Wierd stuff. Itd be funny if everything was 87 or even lower.

Us folks out here in CA, can only get 87, 89, 91.

There is though, this one old fashioned, private gas station on Channel Road in Santa Monica, and they have 100 Octane. It is about $7 a gallon. What good would using 100 Octane do on a "regular" car, even an M3/M5.M6???

I went by there again today and it was 87,88,89,91,93. That makes no sense. I SWEAR they had 94 last time. Maybe that was at Sunoco. Anyway, that's what they sell.

Here in Wisconsin there is scam "more or less" going on with stations, were they fill the tanks of 87, 89 and 91 octane and they have some 87 left so rather than leaving it in the truck they will fill the 91 octane, oOoOo - boy I would be ticked if I filled up with 91 octane and was only getting 87! I don't know what stations were doing it but it was in southern WI, probably happens more than you think.

That 100 octane is for racing, and they mix it for some planes because of its density, it is hard to find and most common in Southern Cal but if you look you can find it all over- ah like a race track - you can get 118 octane as well!

Its not the same stuff though. Different rating system. I think 98 in the middle east is the same as 91 here or something along the lines. My dad saw it in his toyota manual, I am sure you can find the whole thing online.
