I read somewhere that all new Business and Professional Head Units from September 2004 onwards have the ability to play MP3. Then recently I took my 2004 Jet Black X3 3.0i in for state inspection and the loaner car a 330xi with the same Business CD Head Unit played my MP3's just fine!!!
