CD Changer for 1998 540i

Just purchased a pre-owned 1998 540i. It has the cables necessary for installing a CD changer in the trunk. Stopped by a local audio store...they said I needed a "converter" to align with some of the newer in-store CD changers. QUESTION: Is there one brand that works best with my existing system in the '98 540i..outside of tracking down a BMW CD changer?

i'm not possitive but i think some alpine cd changers will work.

http://www.bmwcdchanger.com they have cd changers that fit your car but they are what BMW uses, I think it's Alpine. I was looking for one to fit an e36 and wound up purchasing a new head unit (Rover, but looks like a stock BMW unit) with a CD player, I would like a changer more but they are soooo expensive, especially at the dealer (close to if not higher than $700).
