Due to a considerable sales decrease of Porsche’s off-roader Cayenne, the sports car maker has decided to switch the facelifted model’s launch to an earlier date, which is now the Geneva Motor Show in spring 2007.

In 2005-2006 Porsche sold only 34,000 new Cayennes, in particular sales went down in the United States dramatically, because also the American buyers meanwhile have to struggle with the high fuel costs in their country. Now Porsche hopes to successfully re-enter the market with the new facelifted Cayenne II. These two photos are showing a prototype of the restyled version without any disguise.

Germancarfans.

[eek]

No idea what porsche was thinking.

the bottom picture must be of the guy nailing it, that or it has the worst stance i've ever seen on a car/suv. new front looks decent, rear end looks like a spaceship/minivan

Uhgggg, not so impressed. Like I have said before, I almost got a Cayenne before I went the with doomed Range Rover, but free maintenance on the RR, and the fact that the sales manager leaked to me that the Cayenne was getting a facelift, and interior freshening, made me choose the RR (sadly for 911 owners, the Cayenne is getting lots & lots of 911 interior appointments).

I thought I would be more impressed with the "facelift", because I had seen some spy shots that looked promising. Seeing this "new" Cayenne, makes me even happier with my A6!

Here's 2 more versions I found trolling around:

This one they admit is computer enhanced; whoever did it should work for Porsche.

Not all that different; I'm not that upset with our new 2006.

drkeng, even though we have not seen the face-lifted Cayenne on the streets or at least at a dealership, so far it looks like your Cayenne looks nicer. The face-lifted model has a nice rear end, and the front is decently nice, but it's the headlights that really seem kind of out of place...almost too sleek for the overall design of the car.

I don't think it's that bad. I think the front actually looks pretty cool with those huge intakes (with the lights on the outside, it kind of reminds of the S6 and R8), and the changes to the rear lighthouse and bumper are pretty minor. One thing though, I think the Cayenne always looks retarded without 20" inch wheels -- the wheel houses are just too big for anything smaller. I used to like the multi-spoke 20s, but I think the best ones now are the Turbo S five-spokers.
