Coming to your rearview mirror soon....www.carbonmotors.com

Carbon Motors Corporation is a new American automaker based in Atlanta, Georgia, dedicated to developing the world’s first purpose-built law enforcement patrol vehicle.

Improvements in an officer’s operational effectiveness and vehicle safety will be achieved through the development of a fully integrated cockpit, coach rear doors for safer insertion/removal of suspects, and improved visibility using 360° video surveillance. The improved safety features of the vehicle will include an aluminum spaceframe, an interior that complies with all federal regulations (with emergency equipment installed), as well as ballistic protection in the front doors and dash panel.

The vehicle will be powered by a 300hp clean diesel engine (capable of running on bio-diesel) and a 6-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels, yielding a 0 - 60 time of 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. All of this will be accomplished while still delivering a greater than 30% improvement in fuel economy. And since total cost of ownership is of the utmost importance, Carbon is engineering the entire vehicle with a useful life target of 250,000 miles.

Dodge what? You mean Dodge makes a purpose built car? What I mean is; Has any other company tried to build a police car that wasn't offered to the public unlike the Dodge Charger, or Ford Crown Vic ? (In Europe or other)

Nope, they have not. There was a company that existed for a while that would rebuild old police cars and "tune" them, suspension and engine however they folded as rebuilt cars had a high potential for liability in case of accident, etc. This idea has been kicked around and when GM and Dodge/Chrysler quit "making" police cars a few retired police officers joined together to see what could be done, thus "Carbon Motors". I think they will be successful if they can keep the costs down.
