Hey everyone,

I got a Private Message from Bmw 325i 7803 (Steve), which I tried to reply to, but it said his Inbox was too full to accept new messages.

He seems to think that I traded the 4.8is for the Range Rover, and that I should adjust my User profile. I traded the E90 330i for the Rover, only to hate it due to so many problems, and now I have the Audi A6 (which so far is phenomenal)!!

He also thinks I am car "trolling" (whatever that means), because all my cars have paper dealership plates. I prefer to only buy new cars, opposed to used/pre-owner/CPO (just my preference). Here in CA (as opposed to other states) we do no get temporary numbered plates, but we get dealer advertisement paper plates. Also, our DMW here in CA is very backlogged and slow...so that is why I have dealership plates on my cars (it's also because I take pictures the next day after getting it, so I can post & share with ya'll :) Keeping the paper plates, also makes it impossible to get a ticket for running a yellow in an automated intersection!

So all my cars are MY cars!! Just thought I would clear that up for Steve, and anyone else he might have contacted!!

Hey Jason,

Yeah, you've been gone for a while if you just now know the M3 is gone!! I traded the M3 for a new E90 330i, which I drove for almost a year. The 330i had tons of rattles, and annoying electronic glitches that made the car unenjoyable to drive (but it looked awesome). I traded the E90 for a new Supercharged Range Rover, only to have that be the total car from hell. I traded the RR for a new A6 Audi...and so far I am in Heaven!!! Welcome Back!!

For my BMW, I think the CA DMV took about 3 months to get me my plate. I remember 5 months for a car in our family. Can't remember which one, just that we thought the plate would never come.

Strangely, my sister's Hyundai got its plate in like a little over 1 month.

Adam, what you're called is a "day trader", a guy who's constantly trading in one car for the next and never really reaches 36K miles on any of them. It could be a bad thing, it could be a good thing. In my opinion, you did have bad luck with the E90 and you did switch cars to accomodate to your changing lifestyle (new baby), but I just can't justify every trade you made. I think a significant reason why you always change cars is because after the "new car wow factor" dies out, you end up seeing the flaws of the vehicle and focusing on the flaws too much and you end up being unhappy with what you have so you make a trade.

On the other hand, I know you LOVE cars, you DEFINITELY know your shit (I've never doubted you for a second), you have the financial ability to make the moves that you do, so just do your thing buddy. If you have no regrets on the decisions you've made, who cares what other people think. They're not behind the wheel of your cars every day, you are. [thumb]

Ah screw what other people think! My preference would be to change cars every 1-2 years if I could. Hopefully one day I can. But you should enjoy whatever you do regardless of the reasons.

Thanks Guys!! Yeah, I have had some bad luck, did change due to the new family...and a little is true what Emile said!! Not with the Range Rover though. I thought it was a kick ass car, and I loved it..I just couldn't have a car that was in the shop 5+ times in less than 2 months (honestly, it was in for repairs, more than I drove it)!!

Fingers crossed that my A6 is a keeper (well, for at least a year or so [;)] ) I've had it now 1 month, and there is NOT one issue to even be mildly concerned about, or annoyed with. I honestly cannot believe how much I love this Audi. I never thought I would drive an Audi, but it's really awesome, and the interior fit and finish really impresses everyone I have driven. I even had someone say it was better than the 2007 S Class (that's a compliment).

Unbelievable...

I'd have replied much sooner had I seen this thread when I posted about my minor e46 gripes, but I was simply amazed to find this thread come out of a PM from 2 weeks ago which I thought would kill the issue, or prevent it from ever becoming anything.

You know, Adam, I sent you that PM because it was something I noticed and figured I'd give you the chance to edit the post in the event you were car trolling or in the event you mistyped to prevent this from becoming a thread incase someone else noticed this. Since you had to post what was a private question meant to save you face (if you were trolling) publically, I feel compelled to respond.

You also did not try to respond, you actually did respond and I got your PM. I made some room, so I suppose you need another reason now to justify making this thread, and I also contacted nobody else as this was a between-you-and-me-question which apparently rubbed you the wrong way.

Here is the questioned "british monster thread" http://www.bmwboard.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22264&highlight=range+rover

I asked if you were doubling the niche with the X5 4.8 and Range Rover, you stated that it was gone and traded:

Adam what about the X5 4.8is? Isn't this car a little bit of doubling the niche? Did you sell it?

Yeah, Steve 4.8is is gone!

Anyone can look at that thread and see that, so if the 4.8is is gone, then why would you still claim ownership. See I'm not even accusing you of car trolling, I even give you the benefit of the doubt of possibly drunken mistyping.

You and your X5 4.8is
As for your X5 4.8, I thought you said you traded it in the Range Rover thread, I have not checked that thread to verify this, but I must say my memory is usually pretty reliable.

You're not car trolling are you...?

If you are, well, I don't care, I have no problem with your posts, which is why I didn't post this in the thread. It is interesting though how the cars always have dealer plates...

Anyway, you might wanna edit that post...

regards, Steve.

Hey there,

NO, I traded my 330i (E90) for the Range Rover, only to hate the horrible Range Rover and traded that in for a Audi A6. Everything is on the up and up, and yes they're my cars!!! I seem to have just had a wee bit of bad luck, and changing tastes lately :) So far the A6 is awesome!!

Well if you made a mistake thats fine, but creating a thread over this is a little over the edge, so is the adversarial nature in which you presented all of this to the forum. Adam, this is simply ridiculous.

My bad. The X5 is gone in the sense that we keep it at our business facility, as we have outgrown our parking places at home. We have a 17,000 sq ft manufacturing building, with lots of indoor, protected "parking" areas. So, I should have been more specific in what I meant in "4.8is gone". It's "gone" from our garage, but it's at work, and gets driven all the time.

Sorry for the confusion Steve. Wow, I think I'm totally done with this thread. My cars are my cars, and that's just it!!! I would like to add a 335i coupe to the collection soon!! Then maybe the X5 4.8is will be gone! And I will make sure to notify you, and send you a copy of the purchase agreement, or pink slip if I just buy it!!!

[cheers] Adam, you are indeed a true Gentleman [cheers]

I have seen many photographs of the Z8 in the usual colours of Red, Silver and naturally in Alpina Blue...

But can I just say that in Black it looks absolutely Awesome... Almost like the Z07 Concept above [pray]

That dashboard is a joy to behold... IMO...

Now I know that I should be so jealous but instead I am honored that you let us share in your good fortune.

Thank You... [:D]

Gorgeous Alpina. Guessing that's Piano Black on the dash. Looks incredible; I would probably never sell that car.

Drove the Audi A6. That would be tempting for a sedan. More room, especially in back, than the 5 series. Do you have the voice control package? We demo'ed that and it seemed to work pretty well.
