Car paint

Just out of curiosity, is it a bad idea to get a new color on a car? I don't think I'd ever do it I'm just wondering if it's a bad idea and wondering how much it would cost.

If you change the color, unless the body shop pulls the engine out and a whole bunch of other things, you'll still see the old color in some areas. A good color change will cost a grip.

And if you can still see the old color, it will be harder to sell the car. People will think that it was in an accident or something and try not to buy it.

I got my car painted a while ago. The current maroon paint looked aweful so I wanted to get it done in Delphin Gray. I took it to the shop and got everything done - except the engine bay. All the mouldings, door panels, trunk interrior, etc came out and the car looks really really really good. The only thing thats bad is the engine compartment, but I figured that I will wait to get that painted when I have to get some major engine work done or something. Until then I can deal with the color difference. Plus, I'm not planning on ever selling my car, so I'm fine with it.
