I like Car & Driver. You just have to get a reference for where the editors are coming from. I've test driven many of the cars they wrote about that I was interested in. From my point of view, they generally don't say anything bad about any car (I think to avoid pissing off the car companies so they keep getting test samples of the hottest models). If they do, it's a real bad flaw. You look for places in the article where they don't praise a feature or wish it could be better. Then, downgrade that feature by 10 fold. For example, if they say the controls are not quite as user friendly as a Honda but quite acceptable, that means the layout was designed by a moron (literally) and one or two functions in particular necesitates taking that particular engineer out and shooting him for the greater good of the world.
