Alright I'm looking into buying some type of HID lights for my headlights. I was wondering are "PIAA HID Super Plasma Bulbs" good? or should I look into buying full conversion kits that cost $425 for xenon kit. I was just wondering.

Thanks ahead of time.

I don't know if PIAA HID Super Plasma Bulbs are any good, but if you are looking to improve visibility, without blinding oncomming traffic, simply changing the bulbs won't work. BMW HID is a multipart system which includes reflector geometry (to properly aim and focus the light), xenon gas bulbs (greater brightness), and self leveling system (to prevent the focused, bright light from blinding oncomming traffic).

Do whatever you wan to your high beams since those aren't used when other cars are around, but do the rest of us a favour and don't hack your low beams and blind us.

I don't mind bulbs brighter than stock, just if they're aimed improperly and pointing up. All those aftermarket bulbs help a little bit, but I don't find them providing nearly the difference that xenons do. That's why I chose to pay for the option instead of getting different bulbs. I'd switch to xenons but that's just me. Stock BMWs have incredible lighting compared to other cars even in halogen form so it's not as big a deal as if you owned a Honda or something.

1st. I wasn't gonna go off and blind people I know about that problem was asking just wether those bulbs were good I wanted to replace the ones on my Chevy Blazer. Seems I'll have to just buy the CONVERSION KIT of Xenons then [:p]. And I'm certainly not driving a HONDA! [:(!] [rofl]

Thanks[xx(]

changing to hid's in a headlight housing that wasn't designed for them, and you WILL blind oncoming traffic no matter how you aim them.you'll need a projector housing,or any type of housing that has a cut-off for the beams.i've used the piaa "super plasma" bulbs before and must say that they were the closest color to hid's i've ever seen. tho i did slightly notice that they were not as bright in certain lighting conditions than good regular halogen bulbs. i got them from www.autofreak.net pricey jammies
