To perform an exorcism on my bad karma...........got rear ended this evening...........I just sat there after it happened laughing that this really cant be happening. The ironic part is I was leaving a courthouse annex for my speeding ticket......the annex is in a bad part of Houston and it was dark before we finished. I asked a sheriff's patrol to walk me to my car, but she would not oblige, as I had to park two blocks away in a bad residential area (basically the hood). Here I had been worried about my car sitting out there for three hours and then worried about walking to my car in the dark and "Boom" a half-mile down the road this 1992 Toyota Corolla road heap rear ends me.........jiminy cricket.........he only had liability (which is all I need)...he said sorry "my brakes went all the way to the floor." Of course, the hood driving by kept yelling obscenities as they passed by and we would have to quit talking each time all the boom boxes drove by......

The damage is about 14 inches long and 2 inches tall of scrapes on the bumper.......the guy kept saying, hey a BMW can take an impact of up to 35 mph without any damage.........well it may not be dented, but it is scraped to hades..........

Oh well......I'm off to Dallas tomorrow, I surely hope that Southwest is having better luck than me........

Calgon, take me away.......................[bigcry] [bigcry] [bigcry] [bigcry]

Can it get any worse????

When you get that car fixed, you better get a hex sign painted on it! That car is cursed!!!!

If you are saying "What the heck is a Hex Sign?", it's a Pennsylvania Dutch (actually Germans) design that was/is painted on barns and houses to protect them.

Aw, crap! After the under carriage sludge-fest, now this? [bigcry]

Ya know, I've always beileved that German cars, (in general), have a personality. i.e. if you have a car for a relatively short period of time and bad, unexplainable things seem to keep creeping up, you should trade/sell the car and get another. I basically call the car possesed. Although I have never had a priest exorcise a car, I have thought about having my wife's car washed in holy water.

SO SORRY to hear about your car! At least you’re not injured and most importantly able to tell the story. Next time something like that happens, if you feel unsafe stay in your car, call someone you know will answer, tell them where you are, what happened and leave the phone on so they can hear the entire conversation. Tell the person that hit you to follow you to the nearest grocery store, gas station, etc. somewhere where there are people, so you can exchange information. Our cars are important to us, but not at the compromise of our safety. Have a safe trip.

So few people know that. [thumb]

Very true. My '77 633CSi was always at its best right before something major broke. That car taunted me for years. Just as I began to fall in love with it again, something major would happen. I'd grumble and pay huge bucks to fix it, then I'd think about selling it, and right about then it would run so sweet that I'd change my mind. Then BANG, something else would happen. The car was sadistic and manipulative. Sort of like the woman I was married to at the time. [?|] [hihi]

Unfortunately, its not the car I own, it is me........I've had car stolen from dealership, car wrecked by dealership, car burned by dealership, car stolen by valet..........this is just to name a few......in other words, I should trade/sell me?????? [rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

My mother always says, "Lord, please watch after this child....she ran out of nine lives by the age of 10." Its always been strange that nothing bad has ever happened to me for the predicaments that find me.......[???1]

In times like this, its always best to have some chocolate, Vlad's recipe and a bubble bath....

Hahah, the 35 mile per hour thing is funny. You ever see the 40mph front offset crash tests? The front has more impact resistance, so if it DID hold up at 35 mph, you would have had serious whiplash. Maybe he was going 10 mph...

i'm sorry to hear of your misfortunes. some people have bad luck with cars (you) but as i was just talking to vlad about, i have kind of bad luck with everything.

i was afraid to vacuum my car tonight cause by all means i should've found an expensive flaw in my car, luckily i didn't.

back to topic. good thing that dude had insurance, and it sounds like you kept your temper in check. so sorry to hear you troubles, if you need to sell yourself (if the internet hasn't already stolen your sole) i recommend ebay motors.

vlad, you certainly said a mouthful.. When I was 16 and bought my first car (ahh.. 15 years ago), I got a toyota tercel. Yah yah, but I was 16 and it was MINE. I had the engine go sour in 1 years time, put another engine in it, and killed that one in 1 year.. Turns out, both times my water pump killed both engines. Yet they never spotted it or identified it as the problem..

Possessed cars are for real, didn't you ever see Christine??? [;)] [:D]
