UPS / Discount Tire delivered my new wheels and tires last week for the 325. I want to paint the calipers. There are two type of paint out there - VHT ready to use paint, and several two part, epoxy type paint kits. I know that the epoxy type paint is superior, but how good/bad is the VHT paint?

Some people say the VHT will peel after a year or two. I know that thoroughly cleaning and decontaminating the calipers prior to painting will have a big effect on how long the paint will last. What is your experience?

I want to do this once, not every year. The extra cost of the 2 part is worth not having to do paint the calipers every year. If the VHT is OK for 3 or 4 years, then I would probably use it.

I have heard, and have no experience with it, that the "high heat" paints work just as well! I too am preparing to paint my calipers and have not completely decided this issue yet. Others experience?

the VHT caliper paint (or any spray paint) will not last as long as a true 2 part (paint and hardner) paint will. plus the spray ones are definitely not as glossy.
