Well, the cops busted me doing over 4x the speed limit in a parking lot near my place last night... In my nitro RS4 3 1.8 SS of corse! (gas powered remote control car) ;-)))

We had a great time last night runnin the cars. One cop showed up and gave us the 3rd degree about the cars... lol, he really liked them. So much that he left to go back to the station and pick up his radar gun and just about every other cop in the local area. (hope no one was getting robbed!)... [80?]

So I've got about 50 yards at max to get up to speed and stop before hitting the wall... I'm runnin my RS4 1.8 SS and my boy has a MTX3 prospec with some high end TOP engine, not sure what he was runin that night. Anyway, he clocked me at 46mph, and my bud at 56mph... Sadly we needed more room. By the time we hit second gear, we had to shut them down and hammer the breaks due to lack of run space. Another 50 yards would have prolly been enough room for a true top speed on the car. I'm GUESSING that since he clocked me at 46 when I barley hit 2nd gear, that I might be able to squeeze 80+ out of her. Ahh well. We originally had gone to that lot to practice some road racing with cones, but when the cops showed up and wanted to clock us... We were like HELL YEAH! [:D]

We ran them for hours with these guys... and had a blast! 46mph in a small parking lot was not bad for my little whip! Fun stuff! [^]

Oh, almost forgot the best part!!!
When I got home, I told my girl that the cops caught me doing 46 in a 10 and she hit the roof! LOL [rofl]

She's like " WTF WERE YOU THINKING!?!?! " hehehehe... and then said, "what did he say to you?". My response was " he said, god damn that was fast! ".... hahaha. I had her fooled for about 10min before I told her he was checkin out the R/C. ;-)))

Kool stuff Ben! Post more photos when you can. Those things are cool as hell....
I'd be happy to! :D

Here's a pic of the car I ran last night.... (HPI RS4 w/1.8 SS engine transplant, exhaust, etc. etc. etc.)

Same car wearing a body and some slicks...

Here's a pic of my Monster Truck...
( HPI Savage 4.6cc BIG BLOCK with mods)

Although she's had "implants" since this pic (many upgrades)... here's a nudie pic anyway. ;)

Here's the same truck with a body that I painted. This was the first time I'd ever tried to do any type of flames. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

I also have a E-Maxx that I built when I was 10, but no pics.

That's my R/C garage.... for now! ;-)))

OMG... I can't belive I didn't post these pics. [spank]

I bought this body... The others I painted myself.

I've done about 25 body's now... Some for the truck, and a bunch for the car. I'm just now getting a good feel for the freehand stuff as seen in my "flame job" above. I've yet to take pics of all my bodies, but I've done some "ghosting" and chameleon effects with great success as well. Right now all I can think about is flames though. The pic above was my first attempt at flames ever! I'm pretty proud of it for being a "test" job. I have a few fresh un-painted bodies that I'm about to go flame crazy on. I'll post pics when I'm done.... (btw, that "flame savage took me 12hrs including dry time for the layers) [ohcrap] Hopefully the next one won't take as long considering I learned a thing or two in the process.

I won't even launch into the RC's I've owned over the last five or so years. I sold the lasts ones a while back before I went overseas for a year. None the less...

ROOKIES!!!! hehe

Seriously, good to see other hobbyists here on the board though. I was really into racing, although I did some parking lot bashing back in the day.

My fastest cars were my Nitro TC3 (had a Mugen motor, would probably push 65-70 with the right gearing) and my Supermaxx (see below):

You don't have a real RC unless it can go that fast, AND turn that fast (my carpet racer, yes that's primarily 3mm carbon fiber):

OR

It can pull you across the parking lot in a rolling chair (my Supermaxx, 11lb, pushing 3 HP and who knows how much torque):

Nice rides. Spidey, I have the Super Nitro RS4 Rally, a bigger version of your RS4, it is basically an MT with lower suspension. Don't you love the shaft drive? Don't have to worry about any rocks getting into the belts or any of that nonesense. I'd take some pics of mine but it has been sitting on the attick collecting dust for the past few years.

Nice whips! [:D]

I'm just now eeking my way into a car like yours, nitro though. However my Savage also has a 4.9cc 3.1hp high torque engine that will do wheelies on command and take jumps several stories high with little or no damage. This thing is damn near indestructible with monster power. [headbang]

I've been looking at the MTX3 prospec, but the MTX4 is "coming soon" so I might have to wait for that. [scratch] ... AND at the same time I have an itch to buy a MBX5 prospec buggy or keyosho (sp) buggy. I dunno... I'll probably end up talking myself into buying them all over time. lol [:D]

My girl is already like this over my "toys" [hatchet]

Very nice Ben and Eric. I was heavily into model airplanes, gliders, and boats when I was young, but haven't been doing it for over 20 years now. I really love gas/electric model "toys" and wish I could get back into it, but I have no time to do it. Thanks for sharing the photos and keep up the good work.

Ben, with every body you paint, as you know, you are getting better and better. They are looking great. That M3 body is (I know you didn't paint it) fantastic. You should try and find one in Topaz Blue then I would have to get into the sport....

Thanks! [thumb]
I'm having just as much fun painting these things as I am building and driving them.

One problem...
Too many body's, not enough time!

Here's a ///M coupe I have on order... (clear though as I'll be painting it.)

More bimmer lids... ( NOT MINE! )

Since they don't have a ///M Roadster. I think I'm going to order another coupe and MAKE it a drop top. I've already experimented with "T" tops on a Lotus and Porsche with great success. Cutting the whole top off should be pretty easy. We'll see! I'll be sure to post pics.
