building may case/defective paint

I am posting this to get any info about any paint problems peopele may have had.

My06 525i I have had for 2 weeks has paint problems.

The paint is chipping and I have found many whitish spots on the paint. The dealer has seen it and I have an appointment with a paint specialist on tuesday.

I have contacted BMW NA and they want me to let the dealer figure it out.

I have heard of many people having similar problems with paint.

I would like to bring as many cases to the dealer as I can so I am posting this to get some help.

I am trying to get another car out of this.

Please reply with your info if you can help.

My '92 did that, but it's a little older than yours...

Sounds like it's the clearcoat's defective. That's what mine was, anyway, and from your description, it sounds the same.

I had no issues with my 04 530i, but what foomonkey says, sounds like the problem. Hope you get it worked out and Welcome to the Board.

I am sorry to learn that you are having paint problems with your new car. I do understand how it feels you pay $$$ to a dealership and a week later they are total strangers; if you are having any problems regarding to you new car.
I ordered a 33ci/04 with all options with metical paint. Few weeks later I found out (white and cloudy kind of spots on almost 20% on the car) I showed the dealership and they did agree that it is a faulty paint and at that time I only had 4000 miles on my car. I wanted to tread in for another car and even pay few more on top of my car, but it did not work. All they offered me to repaint some part of my cars. But I was afraid it might get worst.
So make the story short. I am screwed and I am driving the same car and have only 9000 miles on it right now.
