I just chaned the rear brakes and brake sensor in my 2001 X5 after the brake warning light went on. Does the check brake light have to be reset by the dealer ? It didnt go out.. If so how much do they charge.

Thanks

I am fairly sure it doesn't have to be reset, you just put in a new sensor and that is it. When I did mine, all I had to do was replace the sensor. Maybe the new sensor is faulty, the connection is not perfect (for lack of a better word) or maybe the other sensor trigered the warning light.

All fixed.. I put the key on for 45 seconds with out starting the car and it reset it. Thanks for the reply. I put brembo rotors with EBC red pads... a great combo.
