Proud new owner of a 1997 4 door 5 speed Cosmos black metallic on black M3. Only things it needs are a new center vent in the dash, a new passenger foglight, and new tires...has blizzaks on so that is quite hindering performance wise! 100,300 miles.

Weee!!

Wow, congrats Eric. How cool...you're back in a 3er, and a MAJOR upgrade from you old E30. What happened to your red 5er? Sell, trade her for the M3?

You know we NEED pics ASAP...cuz we are all salivating!

Congrats, I'm really happy for you!!!

Thanks everyone! No camera for now... Should have one in a few days! Patience! I have to detail it too... Needs a serious polishing. (had to sacrifice the canon 20D, but i'll have the 30D in 2 months so its all good)

Gah I barely outran my friend's 325i (with dinan chip) lastnight! Replaced the shitty K&N that was on it with a stock and it's pulling much better. This whole "DOHC" and "OBDII" thing is a new world to me[hihi]

But man holy shit is this car fun!! I want to steal some summer tires for it, and I'm a middle class whitey who is afraid to do anything bad! Man!!!!!! [rofl]

yea but doesn't vanos mostly help low end? It has TOOOONS of torque in the low end, it feels as torquy in the low end as my m30 did, but with 600 less pounds of weight to carry.

I'm borrowing my friend's bently so maybe I can check out how to do some of that stuff.

some times it just depends on what mode it got stuck in, if it got stuck in the lowend rpm mode then it would affect your top end negitivly, just somthing to think about.

Yea I'll have to take a look! It's pulling so much better now... I hear obdII computers take a while to adjust, and I doubt the car was really pushed hard too often before me. So I just consider my driving style as allowing the car computer to set the air fuel mixture correctly to help it expel less harmful emissions!

After replacing the air filter, it's been pulling MUCH harder.
