Hi!
I am doing a research on BMWFilms.com and the last three films in "the Hire" series ( "Ticker", "Hostage" and "beat The Devil" ) before getting my Master degree in Marketing and I seriously need your help and expertise! [???1]

I hope you will answer my Questions even if the answer seem quite obvious to you ( and if they do please feel free to tell me that!)

How many of you have visited BMWFilms.com and looked closely at the site and what do you think of it and why?

I've looked at the site very well, awhile ago though, and I was brought to it because I was on a flight to Dallas from Chicago and on United and they were playing a movie like 13min after we took off and they showed 'The Hire' film I believe it was ticker but it had a little Tibetin looking monk kid in whith him and he was protecting him. Ah that film blew me away when I first saw it, totally made my day [:D].

personally, I like "Star" best. I think that it focuses the most on the driving, and, well, the way it was produced is just hillarious. I mean, who couldn't laugh at the end when the "star" gets thrown out of the M5 onto the runway with her coffee all spilled on her lap with all of the photographers there?

I don't know how much BMW paid to produce these and I don't know if it ended up being worth their investment. However, I really do enjoy the series and have all of the videos downloaded.

I saw all of the movies before purchasing a BMW and I can honestly say that they had no effect on my purchase. What did convince me to purchase my car was driving around an e30 325is and then test driving my e36 325i. I don't believe that the videos will affect any future purchase of a BMW on my part either. Getting a ride in my friends' 2004 e60 (545i) had a tendency to do that trick for me.

What is cool is when you buy a car from the dealership they will give you a copy of the whole series on DVD. If you purchase a car from a non-BMW dealership and go the the BMW website and join the ownership circle they (they did for me) will send you the DVD with all the movies on it. I have two copies now. Just put in your DVD player and watch.....

I just wish they made one with an E46 M3 in it. They never got around to producing one. Hell, even one with a 3 series would have been nice, but they never got that far when they stopped making them. I wish they would continue and create more. They are great short films.....

I visited, downloaded them all, and showed the short films to quite a few of my friends, even though they may not be entirely into cars.

Personally I don't think they make the cars any more marketable, unless you look at the "making of the hire" film. The stunt driver was keen to point out that ALL of the BMW's in the film were in stock condition from top to bottom. That's impressive considering what they had to do with some of those cars.

If anything would sell the car to me, it would be to watch them do that crazy stuff with those cars (esp. the M5 in Star, I'm soooo loving the finger snapping powersilde), and then to say that it's the exact same model you could pluck of a showroom floor the next day.

I liked all the movies. Some more than others. Star was my favorite and I found new respect for Madonna for agreeing to the part.

As for marketing, it did nothing for me. I was already a BMW fan before it. I can't remember when the films came out, but I believe I bought my car after the first season was out (but before the DVD). It had no effect whatsoever on my purchase decision. Magazines such as Car & Driver played a much bigger role as well as actually driving a BMW beforehand.

Would like to see more though. Not too big a fan of the website's layout tho.

I heard about them a while ago, but I just got around to downloading and watching them all. They're all well made and very entertaining.

My favorite is Star. It's just hilarious. The finger snapping power slide, as somebody mentioned, and how every time she tried to mess with him, he just slammed her into the back seat.[:)]

The Follow was also really funny for me. The song that they play at the end, "Unicornio," is a song we used for instruction and laughed about in Spanish class. Hearing that song pretty much ruined the mood right there.
