BMW Pixel Problem

Anyone know how to correct the pixel problem? I know the problems date back to the E38 7-series. The E39 5- series were effected and the the X-5s. Anyone have a fix? The lights on the odometer and the information center are going out. Sometimes they are better and sometimes they get worse. [???1]

I do not see what is funny, BMW has had this problem with their instrument lights all the way back to the E38 7-series. Luckily the E36 and E46 were not effected. (I hope eric sees this)

BTW the fix is to replace the entire board -- usually easier to take it to the dealer. Unfortunately it will NOT be cheap.

BMW,NA is currently replacing the clusters, with many owners paying for the labor at the dealership. One-half to one hour maximum for the replacement of the unit. I believe that they have handled thousands of these claims. On this and other boards I have only read of the above taking place. Make sure that they don't try to get you to pay for anymore than above. Good luck."

and the girl only paid 64 $ to have it replaced
