Normally free, but it is not gauranteed you will get one, you need to discuss this with your service dept.

If I dont get a loaner I get a shuttle home.

ya i called the dealer and they said i'm gonna need a loaner but i didn't ask them if i had to pay for it. So basically it's free in all cases if they think u need it? i dont want to go in 1 car and find out that i have to pay for the loaner.. or else i'll just drive w/ someone...

all loaners are free . The trick is getting the dealer to loan you one. I've heard many of the users of this board to make friends with your service advisors so when you need a loaner you 've got a better chance of gettin' one ..Or if you have no problems yelling and screaming in the middle of the showroom floor you'll probably leave with a loaner .

Making friends is always a great help. My dealer for the MDX (Acura) truly caters to their customers. My dealer doesn’t have loner cars but there is a rent a car place down the street that they will get cars from, all you have to do is ask. They arrange everything, someone from the rent a car place brings the car to the dealer and gets everything set up, all you have to do is sign a paper then the dealer takes care of the rest. When you return the car the dealer will bring the car back to the rent a car place so you never have to do anything. Everything happens quickly so you don’t have to wait at all, if you request the rent a car it will be waiting there when you show up.

my dealership only offers a free loaner car if the BMW was purchased from them and the service work is within the warranty period......that is their policy.........

My dealer's loaners were all being used when I went in, so they loaned me the service department's own little 325 wagon, with only 700 miles on it. Now that's service.
