For the 1 Series, so the rest of the world gets it but we don't???

============

BMW's global marketing headquarters in Germany signed an international deal with Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation last year to develop a virtual game simulator, which has been installed in key BMW dealerships around the world specifically for the 1 series launch. Using the top selling PlayStation racing game Gran Turismo, BMW's 1 series is shown exclusively on three circuits: New York City, the Amalfi Coast and BMW's test track Nurburgring.

For the Australian market, the dealership simulators will help filter more than 10,000 people who have already registered online for test drives of the 1 series from a two month lead-up campaign in 1200 cafes across the country asking people to vote for their favourite barista and flag their interest in BMW's new car.

I've been such a GT3 whore lately. I FINALLY got flawless gold throughout the Beginner League. I'm thinking of trying the Rally League now since my Skyline GT-R V-Spec II is 4WD and pushing out pretty good power (990hp), and all the crazy oversteer it gives me will actually be useful in the rally events...what do you guys think??

It would be a great car, but you really have to watch all that power. Trying to slow here down at the speeds it will gain is a bear. Have you set her up for the dirt yet? That is by far my fav. car....

I bought dirt racing tires, but I never gave it a try yet. I used this car for GT World Cup in the Beginner League. it was really great, but there was so much power, I couldn't accelerate at all during the turns....I had to totally change my driving style just to get good lap times out of it. The other cars were faster in the turns (again because I couldn't accelerate through the turns) but my acceleration on the straightaways would make up for my lost time in the handling. I have a 1060hp Viper as well, the acceleration is absolutely devastating but RWD + 1060hp makes it an extremely frisky car. [:(]

I dominate in the Skyline, the viper with all that power is just to uncontrollable for me. I don't like it.

I do all wheel drifts in the Skyline and it hooks up really fast. Just by tapping the breaks (not mashing them) and then blipping the throttle on the exit (keeping it in the power band) makes that car just about unbeatable. One sweet ride. If the car was actually offered her in US, I would have to seriously think about it over the M.....

Yeah, that's what I had to do with the Skyline on the really sharp turns. Even exiting the turn, I couldn't really gas it otherwise the oversteer would kill me, so on some specific turns I would just drift through them. Btw, I play GT3 in automatic mode....transmission shifts perfectly except I wish it wouldn't downshift to 1. Those tough turns make you slow down the most and you don't need the power of 1st gear coming out of the turn because that's when I get the most oversteer.

Btw, you can definitely import a Skyline GT-R easily. It is a great sports car, but I'm not so sure if I would take it over the M3 because like all Japanese sports cars, the Skyline GT-R is probably has a much more bland driving experience compared to the M3.

I love my M too much. Can't go wrong with German craftsmanship. It's fast as hell too. I am taking her out tonight. Drove her to work this morning. It is so hard to keep it under 5500 rpm for another 1000 miles.
