BMW Extended Warranty

Hi,

I presently am leasing a BMW SUV 3 series. It is a 2004 and has about 26,000 miles.
I would like to purchase it, but have been given mixed information on whether I should get an extended warranty.
Please, I could use some help with this.

my advice is to sit down w/ a (knowledgeable & honest) service rep at the dealership and go through- in detail- what's covered under the extended warranty and compare that with the scheduled maintenance schedule in your owners manual. have them evaluate- based on their experience- which items are most likely to fail & require maintenance within the timeframe of the extended warranty and then evaluate which are the most expensive. then, u can make an informed decision.

i did the same thing w/ my model year car, and we noticed that most of the stuff that was expected to fail wasn't covered under extended warranty. so, i saved myself $3k this way.
