I have been asked by a friend to sell his 1972 3.0 CSL on Ebay. Anyone know much about these factory race cars? Any sites, message boards, or other information you could point me in the direction of? Any idea what these cars are worth in todays market? Thank you so much for the help.

No offence taken. It does depend on the condition of the car and the setting in which it is presented. It would be a great car for Barrett Jackson or one of the well publicised auctions, but that is not really an option as he wants to see it go to a good home rather quickly. This car was fully restored in 1990, and you are correct as the body was very rusty and needed allot of attention. It has about 10K on it now and most of that is just driving to car shows and weekend touring. It has no race history, just a factory Bat. He is hoping to get $50K out of it, and I just wanted to see if that was reasonable or not. Thanks for the input. I will post some pictures as soon as I get them taken.

If the car is in great shape, $50k is not out of the question. I believe there was a Batmobile in Roundel recently for $80k, advertised as immaculate and restored. That price was a bit absurd, but you get the idea. If you can find the right buyer, with the cash, the sky is the limit.

I would like a Batmobile myself, but I won't be in a position to have that kind of a car collection for at least another five years. At least I have my Art Car models to tide me over.
