Yeah that's really terrible. It says a lot for increased young driver-training I think. Governments tend to focus on the revenue-raising aspect as opposed to driver education and this sort of accident is part of the result.

Now that I'm 19, I think the legal driver age should be 18. I used to think different, but now that i see all these kids who are so much younger than me, DRIVING.......it's horrifying.

Horrible. What sucks is mommy and daddy will prolly turn around and buy her a new BMW.
Ain't that the truth....and some high priced Lawyer will get her off by saying the guy was illegally parked or something.

Changing the age is not the primary solution, it's MUCH better education, stiffer penalties, and most importantly changing attitudes- DRIVING IS A PRIVELEGE NOT A RIGHT!!

i'm in favor of higher costs/tough education and testing to get a drivers license, like in Europe. That will do much more to keep marginal drivers off the road than changing the age.

This is absolutely what I think too. If kids are taught how to drive properly then age is no problem. My dad was letting me drive his car from when I was about 7 years old in secluded areas and me sitting on his lap bacause I couldn't reach the pedals! And I moved on progressively from there. This is just one example, of course.
