BMW CPO Program - Is it any good?

I am considering buying a 2004 330xi with 47k miles that would be certified by the CPO program. I'd like to get a sense for people's experience with the CPO program. I know it's obviously not as pain-free and cost-free as the factory warranty, but do people find it to be generally comprehensive? I have heard mixed reviews. I'm trying to determine if the CPO program is truly a money saver or if it's just marketing.

I would very much appreicate hearing from those people with CPO experience. Ideally, I'm trying to determine what I can expect to incur in maintainence costs with this car and this warranty.

Thank you!

So far, so good

Got my 04 330i with 40k miles and the extra CPO package for coverage to 100k miles.

No major problems and nothing but great service from the dealer. Unfortunately, with the amount of miles I put on the car, I will run out of warranty in a year or so[eek]

As for the program, the CPO cars tend to be well maintained (and 'refurbished') and thus more trustworthy than a private sale. With the warranty, it is worth every penny. Even if the car requires zero replacements, just the services will cover the costs. Win - win situation IMHO. I just wish I could purchase an extra 50k miles or so[thumb]

Cheers

Just got an 3.0 X3 with about 30K miles, and have been happy so far.

The factory BMW warranty covers the car for 4 years or 50,000 miles, so we're still under 'new car warranty' status. No real issues yet.

At 47K miles, you'll have 3K miles to find issues and have them fixed under warranty. Not ideal, but definitely better than no warranty.

You can probably find one with lower miles for a bit more $$$.
