BMW Board/Members = Powerful

With knowledge and overal output from all members, we have become powerful in my opinion. I have been reviewing the threads about the extended warranties and extended maintenance programs through BMW. The original prices quoted to me by my dealership were Maintenance (Normal price $1495, will give discount to $1295). The extended warranty was quoted (Normal price $2249, will give discount to $2048).

Today after receiving information from BMW Board members I arrived at my dealership with powerful knowledge that resulted in savings. On the BMW USA website the extended maintenance program is listed at $985.00. After receiving all the paperwork and communications I asked how could I purchase BMW's extended maintenance agreement instead of the BMW dealership extended maintenance agreement. She looked at me and said, well they are the same, there is not two programs. I said, OK, then I want the extended maintenance program for $985.00. She said there isnt one. I then explained about the BMW Board website and how we as members are armed with knowledge as a group to achieve the maximum pleasure out of our BMW and she should learn all that there is about BMW USA and what they offer to their customers. She reviewed the BMW USA website and saw the maintenance for $985.00 and said that was their price and she never knew that. I said, yeah and that is my price too, isnt that nice of BMW USA to post that information for us. She had no choice but to offer the program at $985.00........so I saved $310.00..........it may not be much to most people, but its some more shoes for me...........

Good job Lisha! Way to stick up for yourself. It is true that many of the sales people at the dealerships really should learn a bit more and become more knowledgeable with the product they are trying to sell. I find myself knowing a lot more than some of the sales people working there at times.
