I just got my 2008 BMW 335xi w/Premium and Cold Weather package. I noticed that all the BMW 2007 or later model now come with a 4yr BMW assist program for free. I am just wondering if there is any difference between the free BMW assist that they are offering and the BMW assist I am getting with my Premium package? I hope there is some difference since I am paying almost a thousand dollar on that thing.

Also, do I get free Concierge and direction services with my BMW Assist? Or do I need to subscribe to their monthly plan?

Not sure what package you got, the BMW NA web site lists the "Sport Package" at $900.00 but also states, "Packages and Options are currently unavailable for this Model. Please check back later."

From BMW NA, "BMW pays for the first year of BMW Assist safety services for 2006 and earlier models (credit card information required) and four years for 2007 and later models, effective from your vehicle’s in-service date. After the BMW-paid term of service is over, the annual fee is $199 plus applicable taxes."

Go to BMW NA online and look at the information on BMW Assist.

In my 2008 X5 (with Premium Pkg) 4 years of BMW assist is included. If you want extra features, like Concerige, traffic, weather, etc. It's $199.00 each year.

Since I have Navigation, real time traffic is included with the X5, and I think the 7 and 6 Series...don't know about the 3 Series.

So, I think your basic BMW Assist is free for 4 years. Just make sure your BMW dealer sent in the signed contract, you've selected a password and you activate your BMW Assist by pushing the SOS button and going thru the process with the BMW Operator.
