Due to be released in time for the European summer, the 3 Series Coupe will initially come out with three engine options - three petrol and one diesel - to be followed later by a rip-snorting M3 version complete with a 298 kW V8.
The first engines will all be in-line sixes.
The 325i coupe will get a 162 kW motor which will give the car a 0-100 km/h dash time of 7 seconds and a top speed of 247 km/h.
Next up will be the 330i version has 203 kW, a 0-100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The big new version, however, is the 335i, which gets a turbo version of the 3-litre unit producing 228 kW, and giving almost the acceleration of the current M3 - 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and top speed again limited to 250 km/h.
The diesel version has a 3-litre turbo motor producing 172 kW.
