I put Bilsteins on my Suburban (putting on flame retardant suit, LOL) and it made a huge difference in handling compared to any other shocks I ever had on it. Certainly stiffer, but that is what I wanted. It was worth the extra $$ to me.

I don't have experience with BMWs and Bilstein, but, I put Konis on the 325i, that was worth every single dollar and cent, and then some!!

I replaced my stock shocks and struts with Bilstein sports and I love the difference.

Personally I only buy the best.

You could get Koni's...

Thanks for the info. I agree with you MREEDM3 only the best, but sometimes even though you pay top dollar dosen't mean thats what you get.

I have had Bilsteins on a 733 I had once. They were good shocks and I had no complaints. I have Konis on my roadster so it is difficult to compare, but I love my Koni adjustables!

Most of the M3 owner's I meet run Konis.
Yea I'm ordering some this summer! I think I'm keeping stock springs though, since the car already bottoms out on some tall speedbumps. That, and it looks great how it is!

Sounds like your shocks are shot.

That's how my car behaved prior to the Bils, I regret not getting the springs.

Springs and the Xbrace are on my list of new uprgrades....

I will be posting the Eisenmann clips tonight... My brother did the filming so you will have to forgive him for shaking like an alchee.

It doesn't bottom out because of dapening problems, it bottoms out because of height problems! But yea, the shocks ARE worn out. I just can NOT see buying aftermarket springs - the car is low already, and they lower it like another 1" all around. That's just too much. I AM considering the springs the euro M3's came with though. That, and some new bushings.

That would be an option but i can't lower my car because i have 18inch rims with the biggest tire that would fit without rubbing.
Koni Sports do not change the ride height. You can put them on with stock springs and have factory ride height. Changing the springs is what changes the ride height. The adjustment is only for rebound rate, not height.
