I think you are looking for "the least awful car insurance", hehehe. We have Travelers as well and they are working out fine for us so far. We used to have Allstate and they are just terrible. Awful pricing and bad service.

Yeah I am not surprised..but I won't ever leave them...some of the best customer service and rock solid forever...LOL...I remember my Grandfather using them....and this was back in the early 80's. I personally have never heard of Travelers Insurance, but then again I have spent most of the 10 years over-seas....

My wife works for Progressive and says they're a good company. They treat their customers well. She also says Farmers is good. Geico has good prices but I've heard some bad stories about them. I would NEVER do business with Allstate. Just ask a body shop. Those guys know.

We've had AAA for almost 10 years, and for ALL the cars!! :) The rates are great, and for us, the customer service has been awesome. When our X5 4.4i was totaled in 2004, we had the claim handled almost right away, and we were in a new 4.8is in matter of weeks, since they funded the wrecked X5 so quickly.

Get quotes from an independent insurance agent. Travelers, Hanover and State Farm (State Farm is not independent) are all good companies go with the lower of the three.

Great advice, if you go to an insurance quote site you can get multiple quotes and by all means pick one that is nationally recognized and has the lowest prices. There have been some price reductions as many companies are looking to grow (numbers wise). Remember too that many recently have been dropping coverage on any race facility, including driver's schools and such, whereas they use to cover these as long as they were not "timed" events. And in the case of a "summer" car, like my roadster I get a big reduction in the winter months when I do not drive the car, but I am still covered. Some now will not do this.
