Its fifth gear, not top gear =). The m3 does VERY well considering that its 5 years older than the RS. Like said by Jeremy Clarkson in the M3 vs S4 review a few years back, the M3 is like a 3am Rave party, and the audi is a sophisticated party with a bit of sade playing in the background.
