Audi A3 - $31k?

I thought these cars were supposed to be entry level Audis with the hope of converting young buyers to the Audi market. At $31k(non Quattro), I think that's out of most people's league let alone the age group they're trying to market these cars towards.

That would be the German's for you, the 1er is about that much but that serves a different purpose, those who want a hot hatch but want something rear wheel drive and is suppose to be "the ultimate drive".

Ha the engine is made in Hungary, poor Audi/VW. I read an article in BusinessWeek about how BMW built their plant in Leipzig (not that I already knew that), and how they are pretty much breaking the curve, funny how it works.

I think the car is well-priced. Sure, $32K is kind of pricey for an "entry-level" Audi, but it is loaded to the rim for something like $34K. Most people will lease this car and there are many young buyers out there who will be able to afford $400/month in lease payments.
