Well I have bad news:
I had an arguement with a guardrail and lost. Exiting the autobahn in the rain. The exit I took has a lot of truck traffic due to the construction of an IKEA(they are everywhere!)and some truck must have dripped some stuff on the offramp. So the exit is a little right to left switchback. So when I switched back to the left my tail end kept going. So naturally using the skills I picked up watching formula 1 and playing GranTurismo 4 [;)] , I tried to correct....to make a long story short I didnt t-bone a guardrail and got away with some dents and scratches along the whole right side of my car from the passenger side front door to the back quarter panel. So the whole right side of my car is all messed up. Then this morning my car wouldnt stay on....it would start but the idle was not steady and would peak at 1500rpm then drop to 500rpm and then shut off.....THEN I called ADAC and they towed me to the wrong BMW dealer so I had to call them back and have them tow me to the correct service center......I still dont know what is wrong with the car...maybe the MAF sensor or something with the fuel injection....because it will start fine so it isnt the alternator or the starter....or maybe something with the exhaust....but I dont think so.......sigh...but hey the good thing is I got a BMW as a rent a car....even though it is only a 318i(still goes at least 180kph though, maybe faster but weather and traffic wouldnt let me test that out)

Ouch, sorry to hear about your car. I remember once before I became educated..haha...that I was driving on a two lane highway with the cruise control on, big mistake....why?, because it was winter, cold, the wind blowing, there were spots of ice (I did not know about) and as I started to climb a hill the cruise kicked the auto trans down to maintain speed and oops...ice....the car began to spin and I hit the guard rail. Not any major damage, but a bruised ego. Now after many performance driving schools, years of winter driving, and reading posts of other driving nutz I learned not to use the cruise during this type of driving conditions.

Actually it did kick in....it is problably what prevented me from hitting the guardrail head-on or with the front quarter of my car. I get my estimate hopefully today and will let you know how much it gonna set me back for(or set my insurance back for! [;)] )
