It's kind of hard for women to drive stick because their various shoes don't really allow for driving stick (high heels, stilettos -which are just super high heels I guess-, etc.).

actually wearing high heels offers no limitations to driving a stick......the only problem may be if 5 or 6 pairs of high heels are piled in the floorboard...... [headbang]

funny funny Mr. E............

Depends on the person then, I guess. At my high school, this one girl drove a Civic in stick shift and she NEVER wore heels. I already knew the answer but I asked why anyways and she confirmed it.

Girls + stick shift = extremely rare, extremely hot, combination.

She learned to drive auto. I had my boss's 5 speed Saab 9-3 one weekend and she asked if she could try it. After she got the hang of it she loved it, so when I bought her a car (the 325i) she wanted a 5 speed.

It USED to. But nowadays, with auto being the "standard" transmission in cars, most people in general don't know how to drive stick shift.

And of course, there is the difference between barely being able to get from point A to point B, and getting there with smooth shifts, solid downshift, and taking turns the way you're supposed to with a manual car.

FWIW -

I read somewhere recently that only about 10% - 12% of the cars sold today (in the US) are manual tranny. Elsewhere, it's the opposite.......
