UUC Short Shifter

Had a UUC Short Shift kit installed in my 1998 328is over 3 years ago. Coupled with a RKII alluminum knob (for added weight), it is awesome. I will do it right away on my next BMW rather than waiting. I can't remember exactly what I paid for it (records are at home) but I think it was around $275 for the kit and $75 for installation. Paid another $75 two weeks later when I ordered the shift knob directly from UUC. A must. Shift action takes a little getting used to but after a few days, you'll wonder why you waited so long.

The shortshifter kit is 2nd on my list (cup kit is next), but I want to get a clutch stop at the same time too. About how much labor is that to get the stop put in and the clutch adjusted (Just an hour I'm thinking?)?

blast - a short shift kit will do a few things. It will lower the height of your shift knob, shorten the distance travelled to 'get' into gear, and in general gives it a more fluid feel. The shortened distance means you can essentially shift gears faster (once you are used to it). This coupled with a clutch stop (shorten your clutch) speeds up your shift too. (or can..)

Lots of the cars at the meet Sunday had short shift kits, I was absolutely in awe - it feels so much better to be lower like that.. I'm totally sold.

I recently installed the uuc evo3 to my car, all I can say it is the best thing you can do to the car! the difference is incredible well worth doing [driving]
