I don't own one, but I did rent the predecessor, K1200RS, for a long weekend. Rode from San Fran to Lake Tahoe to Reno and back. It was the finest bike I have EVER ridden. It's still on my wish list. It's basically a sport bike with class and manners!

What were you doing in my home Kirby? I am from Tahoe but lived in Reno for most of my life.

Eric, did you forget that Jimmy's 540i is a dinan conversion.....over 400hp. Is that 12 second time still impossible? I don't know.....just asking

That is true and it is a very good bike, but I would class that bike more the Sport Tourer class. It is clean and refined. The K1200S is a great great bike. I have never ridden one, but I sure would love too. Good luck Jimmy.....

I was in Modesto on business for 3 weeks with a co-worker and we had a long weekend free. The rental was planned, but the destination was "OK now we have bikes, where are we going?". We looked at a map and since neither of us had visited Tahoe/Reno, the decision was made pretty much spur of the moment.

Well I hope you enjoyed it.......Tahoe is so beautiful....Reno has turned into a soul-less cesspool of hookers, drugs and greed. I won't be moving back sad to say.

That was exactly my impression. It was my first and last time in Reno, but I want to go back to Tahoe with my wife for a week of skiing sometime.
