It'll be tough. Didn't I write you some long ass PM about the tricky tactics CHP is using now?
Anyways, it's tough b/c radar can work while the officer is moving. If you're facing the other way, they can still pick up your speed.
If there's no curve, then your only non-technical argument is gonna be that the cop radared someone else. Were there any other cars near you? Bigger SUV? Something like that. Danger is gonna be that he'll claim he "visually estimated" your speed as well.
Technical arguments (have to ask for this stuff now, well before your court date):
1) Radar - ask for his training recs, certification, and the calibration of the gun. The other stuff might be a little old, but the calibration of the gun should be the day of the ticket. Also get the road survey which states what the safe speed of the road is. I think the road survey has to be done within the past 7 years or so.
2) Visually estimating (if he doesn't bring this up, don't mention it) - ask for his training records and certification on this. If it's old, you can argue that there's no evidence he's still qualified cuz he may have lost his touch (same argument you make about the radar if it wasn't calibrated on the day of the ticket).
Call the court and figure out where you need to go to make a discovery request. Also, ask for the back of the ticket. They'll make a copy. That's where cops write their notes on the traffic stop so you'll know what reminders he put for himself.
Unfortunately, since it's CHP, he will show up.
